My windows 98?

Ok I have a windows 98 and I tryed the system restore and now the computer wont work it reaches the main screen and then says explorer has an error what do I do to fix? Dont tell me to trash it its a good CP. Ps 98 is not compatable with internet so thats not an option.

Its better if you try and install the OS using bootable disk

I would recommend upgrading your windows version, if you can't do that. Try to find the installation disk you used to install your current version of windows, pop it in and use the repair option.

I have no doubt that it's a good computer, but it's got a crappy operating system. Unless you





A.) have a Windows 98 CD.


B.) a Windows 2000 or higher CD, and a powerful enough computer





or





C.) The willingness to try something new (i.e. Linux)





you are pretty much stuck.

Windows 98 isn't the greatest (or safest) thing to use on the internet, but it isn't "incompatable." Of course, if Explorer isn't working, you'll have a hard time getting on the internet anyway.
