Computer Screen Problems?

I shut down my computer (a Toshiba) during a system restart after hibernation, and when I turned it back on the right side of the screen was covered by a block of white with black and colored lines vertically through it. After restarting a few times, it remained the same. It's still there - any ideas on what caused this/how to fix it?

Life time of LCD is over.

Or maybe it could be that the graphic card has stopped working properly.
Reply:You need to get it quickly to a doctor.
Reply:The connector to the LCD may be loose. Actually, you hope it is loose. With the power off, unscrew the front of the monitor such that you can see the cable. Re-seat (loosen and replug) the connector, refasten the screws you took out and try it again. If that doesn't work most laptops have a connector in the back where you can attach another monitor to it so you can still work on it until you get it fixed.
