Randomly the printer disappears from the list of useable printers, and it asks to be reinstalled... Is there a hotfix for this, and by the way, I'm running Vista.
-Thanks

Hi how can i fix my default gateway on laptop.. can anyone help please?
Double click on the little icon for your wireless in the tray at the bottom right corner of your screen. It will open up a list of available connections. Choose the one you want and connect to it. Usually the last connection you made this way (manually) will be set as the default.

Compatiblilty On Vista?
You should be fine with the X3100 chip. Notice that it not a suitable card for most videogames, if you are using this notebook purely in a business environment (or writing papers, e-mail, internet, and so forth) you should be good to go. You should also be able to use the Aero interface.
Vista needs quite a lot of memory, with those 2GB you are covered.

I have ACER laptop. How can I use wireless Internet? Do I need to install something?
NO
I have ACER laptop. How can I use wireless Internet? Do I need to install something?
If your laptop comes with WiFi support, then there is no need for you to install the driver or specific application to utilize the WiFi NIC.
To connect, simply click on the SSID and enter the password.

How to format my Toshiba Satellite with Vista which came without CDs. When pressing F8 on boot, it asks 4 pass
you have to enter the pass! good luck :)
How to format my Toshiba Satellite with Vista which came without CDs. When pressing F8 on boot, it asks 4 pass
f8 should get you into safe mode probably.
instead start pressing f10 during the reebot and see if it brings you into a recovery mode. than choose the option to reinstall your pc back to factory specs.
if its not f10 it could be f11, but some compters f11 is the boot cycle screen.
If you see like a d partiion on your my computer thats a couple of gigs big, than that is your recovery drive. don't mess with that drive. Just follow the steps above.

Boot up in safe mode. Log in as administrator. Then go to control panel, user accounts, change the user name and password there. Restart computer. That should solve your problem.

ask them for the user name and password or else just put the xp cd and format the drive and install the xp to use it as a new pc.bye
Reply:to boot up in safe mode its usually F8, press it when you see the boot screen and select safe mode
Reply:restart your computer, keep hitting f8 until your windows intro page starts up, wait for the safe mode page to come up, hi lite the safe mode and hit enter, when it asks for a user name,
type administrator
for the password, leave it blank hit enter.... windows whatever will start up, and your desktop will appear
go to the start menu
go to settings
then control panel,
then users and passwords
under the users tab,
make sure box that says users must enter name and password is UNCHECKED
hit apply
then go under the advanced tab
make sure the box that says require users to press ctrl, alt, delete before logging in is also unchecked...... hit apply
and restart.....
you should be good to go!!!!
