Is it easy to replace a DVD +/- RW Rom drive on a laptop?

I have a replacement, but have no clue how the thing replaces . Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Laptops are generally much harder to work with than normal computers, due to their compact form. Components are much harder to get to, and usually require dissembling a lot of the case to reach.





How difficult it is to replace a particular part depends on the laptop. Usually harddisk drives and memory are made fairly easy to replace, and other components are given no such consideration.





My recommendation: If you have never worked in a laptop before, this is not the chance to get your feet wet. Save that for replacing memory or a harddrive. Take it to a shop, and they should be able to do it within an hour. If they try to charge you any more, I would think about trying a different shop.
