Is there a way to get the HP 2600n printer to override the # of copies before replacing toner cartridge?

I have an HP 2600n color laser printer. It has told me that I need to replace the black toner cartridge. Now, this is based upon the number of copies printed. There is no way that the toner is gone. I have taken it out and shaken it, this usually works with copiers. The printer still tells me to replace it. I am guessing there is a chip or some such on the cartridge.

What can be done to tell the printer to continue using the cartridge, that it is still good?
