RAM not working properly, help please!?

Hi, I just bought 4GB of RAM for my computer (2*2GB). When I inserted it along with the other 2GB RAM chips (2*1GB), everything worked like it should. But when I tried to reboot, nothing happened, the screen was completely black. I tried taking out the new 2GB chips, leaving only the old chips in the PC, and then there was an error message that said, "overclocking failed", and after the error message the OS started up and everything worked properly. I have also tried swapping places so that the old RAM is in the slots where I first put the new RAM and vica versa, and replacing the old RAM so that the only RAM in the computer is the new 2*2GB chips.

RAM not working properly, help please!?
You have a powerful computer. The magic of Windows Vista is that you can speed up your system using Windows ready boost. You can add the space on a flash drive to use as memory on your computer so you could buy a 2gb flash drive and use that as the remaining 2gbs you needed.

Try to use your new memory alone. If it does not work, then your new memory might be faulty and you have to replace it.

There is a good software to do memory test. You can download it and burn it onto CD, then boot from it.

P.S.: Flash drives have nothing to do with memory upgrades.
Reply:Vista is problem solve by patch RAM 3GBup in site microsoft...
Reply:overclocking is when you make the processor perform faster than (higher mhz) than it is supposed to....

Above aside, I am wondering if maybe you weren't grounded when you installed it?
