Boot up in safe mode. Log in as administrator. Then go to control panel, user accounts, change the user name and password there. Restart computer. That should solve your problem.

ask them for the user name and password or else just put the xp cd and format the drive and install the xp to use it as a new pc.bye
Reply:to boot up in safe mode its usually F8, press it when you see the boot screen and select safe mode
Reply:restart your computer, keep hitting f8 until your windows intro page starts up, wait for the safe mode page to come up, hi lite the safe mode and hit enter, when it asks for a user name,

type administrator

for the password, leave it blank hit enter.... windows whatever will start up, and your desktop will appear

go to the start menu

go to settings

then control panel,

then users and passwords

under the users tab,

make sure box that says users must enter name and password is UNCHECKED

hit apply

then go under the advanced tab

make sure the box that says require users to press ctrl, alt, delete before logging in is also unchecked...... hit apply

and restart.....

you should be good to go!!!!
