Cpu fan not detected?

When I boot my computer I get a message "cpu fan not detected" and have to press F1 in order to continue booting. What could be wrong? How serious a problem is it? And how much $ to fix? Thanks and may God Bless!!

Your fan motor may have burned out. Or the wires might have become disconnected. F.Y.I. That fan is what keeps your computer from frying. If you don't turn it off, it will ruin the motherboard. Not much to fix.
Cpu fan not detected?
Go into your BIOS settings. This varies for all motherboard types but go into your temperature settings (Where it displays how hot the CPU, GPU, Fan RPM etc). Go right to the bottom and change CPU Fan warning to "DISABLED". If you can't find it, Just browse through the BIOS until you find something with "CPU FAN WARNING" or similar. By default, it should be set too something around 800rpm.
Reply:go into control panel%26gt;system%26gt;advanced%26gt;startup %26amp; recovery then u can chose default and disable 2nd one from coming up

If this does not help, then u may need to make sure ur CPU fan is properly installed... Actually, u may want to check if ur CPU fan is properly installed first!
Reply:If your CPU fan is broken, you don't want to run your computer: your processor will fry. It normally runs around 50C, but without a fan, it'll start smoking at ~300C

There are safety measures to make sure that won't happen, but without a fan, that's what your processor would do.
Reply:First thing put your ear near the fan/vent area do you heard anything? If yes the check your bios it may not be dectecting the fan.if no the the next question is is this a laptop on "desktop"?if it's a desktop open the case turn the computer back on and see if you see the fan turning.if it's not don't run it till you get a new CPU fan.there usally easy to replace a couple of clips or screws.some time you may have to buy one with a heatsink the thing with fins on it under the fan.Don't go cheap on the fan but you don't have to break the bank either about 20-50 bucks. If it's a laptop download the repair manual for you computer read how to replace the CPU fan then decide if you want to do it or take it to a shop.
