Should i pay a computer shop to replace a DVD burner in my laptop?

my dvd burnder is shot. I have a replacement that customer service sent me from a previous problem, so I'm sure I could use that. But I don't want to open up my laptop cuz i never have really. Should I pay a shop to replace it? and pay labor costs?

I could just buy a faster better external DVD burner since I use the laptop as mostly a desktop anyway. Plus it's an older laptop that I don't want to spend tons of money on.

What do you think I should do? Thanks!

Very easy to replace, a shop will rip u off in most cases, an ext Drive would be the go, plug and play, designate it as your number 1 and away u go.

Hi, if you have warranty for that take it to the company otherwise it is easy to to replace.Just find the service manual for your laptop or download it off the internet and follow the step by step instruction.
