I want to find a laptop that does not run on Windows.?

I have some computer knowledge and have used computers running on FedoraCore6 and Linux. I really like the HP laptops, but it seems like Microsoft has a complete monopoly on the market. I want to buy an HP, but i do not want to pay the extra hundreds of dollars for Windows Vista, is there a way that i can do this?

Linux is not nice, you can't do anything on it.... If you buy a HP then you will have to pay the extra hundreds but my advice is to shop around and see where you get the best prices

Reply:the only os's i can think of would be mac and linux. last time i checked linux was free so you would save a lot of money. if you're in the work force however, or have a lot of documents and files, linux is no good. i just bought a cheap little EEEpc with linux and its great for just internet, but is no good for anything else.





if i were you, i would forget about the extra cost and go with the market- windows makes us think its the best but it is really simple to operate. in the long run, if you have this laptop for a couple years the extra few hundred you spend wont have a huge long term effect.





i dont know how but im sure theres a way to put mac on a pc so you could try that too.
