Upgrading My PSU????

I'm Worried about my PSU because i just bought a New video card.... The new Video card that I bought is 8600 GT from XFX and it says that the minimum PSU is 350 and my PSU is only 300 and im planning on Upgrading my PSU to 450 because of the video card that i bought..... I'm sick and tired of using the onboard video card on my MOBO.... Is it Safe on Upgrading my PSU to 450???? The reason why im upgrading my PSU is because of the Video card that i Bought..... I want the Video card to run smoothly and safely..... My uncle is an IT expert and he told me that I really should upgrade my PSU if i wanted to install that new graphics card..... So is it safe to upgrade from a 300watt power supply to 450watt power supply??? does it fry anything on my MOBO??? i've done an upgrade on my computer..... My computer is a Compaq Presario Sr2180Nx and the factory memory for this computer is only 1 GIG.... I put 2 1 GIG memory on it and right now its 3GIG, which it makes my computer run faster... TNX....

Hi, it is safe to do that,you can even use power supply with 800 Wattage as long as you don't need that much power,just stick too 450 or 500. The only difference is power usage.

Yes it is safe but don't get a cheap bad psu because it can fry your components because it may regulates voltage inadequately.
Reply:y worried? jz upgrde ur psu.. pick from basic or the "power" psu 1.. i mean the psu made by gigabyte,cooler master,antec or other u can trust to.. better get the 480w or 680w or 500w.. go go go go.. me jz upgrade my psu to 480w gigabyte from the 450w standard casing psu hahahahaa.. it cost me usd50





take antec neopower.. 650w,satisfy n gurateeee.. but cost u usd120 bucks lol
