If u get the solution and vote for best answer.
Reply:Does anything ELSE work when plugged into your sound card ports (i.e.: speakers)?

If not, then it's a sound card issue. Have a look at your Control Panel and click "Sounds, speech and audio devices." Just make sure none of your sound hardware has been disabled or have any error messages attached to them.

Your headphones should have two plugs at the end. A Pink One (Mic) and a Black or Green One (Headphones). Be aware of the color coding, and look at the back of your computer.

Odds are, your computer will have several places where you can fit these plugs (called "ports"). There will be about two or 3 ports somewhere near your USB ports (the rectangular ports, but you most likely know what USB is), and they're may be some more below those, where the back of the case is slotted.

I've included a link to a picture to show what I mean. In the picture you'll see 3 colored dots, which are the most common location of audio ports. But, below those, where the sideways slots are, you may have more ports. http://www.dansdata.com/images/gtr7106/7...

If you have more ports, this indicates the presence of a Sound Card. And you'd be wise to try plugging your headphone and mic into their appropriately colored ports on that Sound Card.

Once you're hooked into the Sound Card; If the plug on your headset is Black, but you don't get sound of the Black port, then try the Green Port.

By now, you should definately have working headphones, unless there is some sort of problem that I've never encountered before.

Anyway, good luck, and let me know if you get this resolved.
