Best external hard drive?

What is the best external hard drive?

What is a well known and good brand?

I have Windows Vista if that makes a difference in what I can use.
Best external hard drive?
bestbuy, they have everything
Best external hard drive?
I would suggest getting a Seagate or Western Digital.
Reply:I don't know about "best" but I use Western Digital external hard drives. They are pretty reliable and work pretty easily.
Reply:The operating system doesn't make a difference.

I have a western digital 'my book' external and I've had it for 2 years, banged it around in my bookbag and everything and it still works absolutely perfect.

WD is known by a lot of people and usually one of the cheapest brands. Everyone I know who owns one has no complaints.

Hope that helps!
Reply:Hi, just buy and internal hard drive and put it in 3.5" case. It is cheaper and more reliable.
Reply:Good brands are Seagate and Western Digital. If your definition of "best" is the fastest and the largest capacity, I suggest buying 7200rpm external hard drives because they are the current fastest in the market and I think the largest capacity I've seen for external hard drives is 6TB but people usually buy somewhere between 250GB-1TB. Your OS doesn't really matter.

I suggest checking this out:
